February 7, 2010 Black History Month Worship Resources

February 7, 2010 —
Black History Month Worship Resources

Throughout the month of February we celebrate Black History Month. It’s a time to be reminded of the richness of African-American culture and the brokenness of American history around issues of race as well as an opportunity to see how God is at work in the church to bring about healing, reconciliation, and hope.

The General Board of Discipleship has a wealth of resources to help congregations in this commemoration. Among other materials, their Web site has prayers for worship, background articles about African-American music, and sermon starters to help preachers relate to this special time of celebration.

Go to their Web site at www.gbod.org/worship for more information. Our general church apportionments help to make this service possible from the General Board of Discipleship.
