Youth Strike for Christ Youth Strike for Christ is a spiritual growth retreat for seventh through twelfth graders. Set for February 3-5, 2012 in Des Moines, the weekend provides opportunities for young people to enjoy lively music and meet new friends while participating in hands-on mission (gathering food for area food pantries) and small group Bible study. This year’s theme, “Soul Survivor,” plays off of the reality television series, using Isaiah 40:28-31 as its scriptural text: "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." These annual gatherings develop young leaders in the church to help us reach new people for Christ. The Iowa Conference Council on Youth Ministries provides funds to support Youth Strike events with the help of apportionment dollars. Learn more at www.youthstrike.com.
