Make a Gift - Income for Life - Tax Deduction
The Charitable Gift Annuity is a great way to leave a gift to your church or favorite ministry. The CGA allows you to make a gift to your church (or other United Methodist ministry) and receive a fixed income for the remainder of your life. Additionally, you will be eligible for a tax deduction. Just think – gift to church, lifetime income, and tax deduction. It sounds too good to be true; but it is true. Please review the following examples and think about this great opportunity.
Example: Example:
Single person age 72: Married couple ages 72
Gift = $5,000 Gift = $5,000
Tax deduction = $2,101.55 Tax deduction = $1,606.25
Rate of return = 6.3% Rate of return = 5.8%
Annual income = $315 ($200.02 is tax free) Annual income = $290 ($180.38 is tax free)

Award-Winning Communications Staff
Congratulations to Dr. Arthur McClanahan, Director of Communications, for being recognized for his work at the recent UMAC (United Methodist Association of Communicators) meeting. Dr. McClanahan received the Award of Excellence in Photography. He was also elected to the Board as Secretary for UMAC for the next 2 years.
Congratulations also go to Kevin Evers, Manager of Communications. Kevin received the following awards for his work:

Award of Excellence - Brochure/Direct Mail;
