The Academy for Spiritual Formation will take place August 9-14 at the American Martyrs Retreat House in Cedar Falls. Presenters this year are Dwight & Linda Vogel, clergy members of the Iowa Conference. The Academy begins Sunday with dinner at 5:30 pm and ends on Friday August 14th following lunch. Each day includes Curriculum sessions, time for silent reflection, faculty discussions, Covenant Group meetings and services of Eucharist, Morning and Evening Prayer.

Volunteers are needed for the Iowa State Fair August 13-23rd
We are searching for volunteers to provide radical hospitality for 4 hour shifts at the Iowa State Fair. Does your church have a youth group looking for a service project? A group from your church that attended Camp? A UMM, UMW, or mission group who would like to spend a day together at the Fair? Maybe you are someone who just can’t get enough time at our great State Fair? Volunteers receive free admission to the Fair for the day and a limited edition i-Camps version t-shirt, designed for this year’s volunteers.
Listed are the times still available, and will be filled on a first-request, first-served basis. Contact darci.hartman@iaumc.org if you are interested in volunteering for a shift of radical hospitality by applying Camp tattoos to many of the million younger (and some older) visitors to the State Fair.
5-9 pm Shifts with 4 spots open: All days of the Fair (August 13-23)
1pm – 5 pm Shifts with 4 spots open: August 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 23
1 pm – 5 pm Shifts with 2 spots open: August 13, 22
9 am – 1 pm Shifts with 4 spots open: August 16, 19, 22, 23
9 am – 1 pm Shifts with 2 spots open: August 17, 18, 20
