Eric is an ordained Elder in the Iowa Conference. He served churches in the conference for seven years and has been a member of the Conference staff for eight years, primarily in the areas of youth and young adult ministry.
Eric’s work supports the ministry areas of:

Scott Hibben
Your LDM for Evangelism & New Ministry
Scott is an ordained Elder in the Iowa Conference, having served six churches in thirty years of ministry. These churches range from a three-point charge to a smaller county-seat “united” church (UMC & UCC), to a rural bedroom community church, to a new church start. Each of these churches grew while Scott was their pastor.
It is this passion for the local church and leading people into deeper faith in Jesus Christ that Scott brings with him.

Parish Development (including church revitalization and new church starts)
Hispanic Ministries
Planning and Research
The Academy for New Ministry Development
Scott’s areas of interest include:
Doing church in new ways that speaks to the people and times in which we live

Tom Robertson
Your LDM for Camping & Spiritual Formation
Tom comes to the Iowa Annual Conference with 20 years of camping and retreat experience plus another eleven years in teaching and social services. His background includes program development, administration, consulting and facilitating organizational discernment and strategic planning.
Tom’s work supports the ministry areas of:
Camping and Retreat Ministries
Spiritual Formation
Christian Education
Tom’s areas of interest includes:
Promoting, supporting and advocating for those who seek to offer Christian education, faith formation and spiritual formation opportunities — cradle to grave — within the Annual Conference, especially within ministries of local churches
Working with camp site directors, the Board of Camp, Conference and Retreat Ministries, and others to create opportunities to shape children, youth and adult lives through quality programs and services, delivered in the summer and year round by a dedicated and well-trained Christian staff
Learning how connect the pieces of the IAUMC puzzle

Naomi Sea Young Wittstruck
Your LDM for Social Justice & Mission
Naomi Sea Young is a lay member in the Iowa Conference. She has worked in a variety of jobs the past few years in faith, non-profit and governmental agencies on issues of faith, justice and mission.
Naomi Sea Young has a deep passion for connecting issues of social justice, community outreach and transformational change through and with United Methodist faith communities.
Naomi Sea Young’s work supports the ministry areas of:
Missions (local, state, national and global) and Social Justice
Partnering, Collaborating and Connecting with Community, Ecumenical and Interfaith Groups
Legislative Advocacy and Education around the United Methodist Social Principles
Resourcing, Empowering and Mobilizing United Methodists around Iowa on issues of Mission and Justice
Naomi Sea Young’s areas of interest include:
People’s stories, experiences and understandings of broader social issues as they shape community, create awareness, education and empowerment for our congregations
Exploring how United Methodist congregations in Iowa can be living witnesses to Jesus’ compassion, hope and transformative justice
Revitalizing churches through creating bridges and partnerships with other faith communities, non-profit organizations and community groups
