This is the day that God has made!...Truly designed with every True Vine Ministry Clergy Spouse in mind.
The beautiful sun on a warm fall day was a perfect setting to gather Saturday October 8 at Living Water United Methodist Church in Marion. Pastor Marty Schuhmacher brought greetings during the day. The hospitality team of Living Water UMC were a true blessing to our day. All were kind, caring, warm, smiling, and great cooks! You can determine for yourself when you make the delicious soups we were served as the recipes are attached.
The Wesley Covenant Prayer begins all events. Reciting aloud allows for the membership to center on what God has intended for us in this time and place.
Presenters did a wonderful job encouraging each of us in Prayer and Purpose to our daily lives. The purpose and joy of creating Sabbath space in our lives and our week was presented by Cheryl Weesner. Lynn Louk with the guidance of Barb Oakland facilitated movement as we experienced God as a Verb. Kae Trittle encouraged our being especially attentive to the personal/professional circles of care and love in our lives. Mrs. Trimble revealed that “No one can control your thoughts but you.” Sharing that Forgiveness is a Choice adding that God and prayer offer a perspective to consider and use in our daily lives. Even in desperate times with desperate outcomes, the proverb “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health (healing) to the bones,” is a viable choice for our consideration in both our head and our heart. Concluding with author, poet Maya Angelou’s perspective, “Success is loving life and daring to live it.”
Thank you to Elise Ritter-Mafuta for opening up and stepping up to share her faith and walk with God. Praise God.
Please keep the family of Barbara Oakland in your prayers. Barb’s dad passed away on October 8. The fellowship and friendship of True Vine Ministry prayed for him as Barb and Jerry went to be by the family side in her dad’s final hours. Amen.
Rejoicing Next Steps…
In conclusion a few words from Mrs. Trimble about the 2011 Fall Gatherings of True Vine Ministry…
It is our prayer and our hope that today you will take something away that you will want more of; perhaps in your own local church or to have repeated in your district. Perhaps you are involved in a small group or covenant group that is looking to grow and or the same with some of your friends. The purpose is to sow the seeds of prayer and be known by these fruits. Amen. (Amen) Amen.
Jesus says in John 16…
…These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace…In the world ye shall have tribulation (trouble): but be of good cheer (take heart!) I (Jesus) have overcome the world… (John 16:33)
