Statewide United Methodist Women’s Human Trafficking Awareness Conference

The Iowa United Methodist Women and the Network Against Human Trafficking are co-sponsoring a human trafficking awareness conference May 30th & 31st, 2013. There will be a training program incorporated within the conference that can be utilized by United Methodists in communities, schools, and churches. The conference will be held at Collegiate United Methodist Church and Wesley Foundation, which is located at 2622 Lincoln Way in Ames. A Place at the Table
A Place at the Table is a documentary on hunger and poverty in the United States that just opened nationwide on Friday, March. 1st. The film explores the realities of hunger in the midst of abundance and follows the stories of three different individuals whose experiences and lives address the reality and complexity of the hunger crisis in the United States.
