Advanced Lay Servant Ministry Training  "Accountable Discipleship" 
This course focuses on the concept of the household of God, Scripture as divine revelation, Wesleyan understanding of grace, and the importance of the class leaders in the development of the Methodist movement.
July 10, 17, 24, and 31 (Saturdays) from 9:00am to 11:45 am through Zoom.
Only those who have taken the Basic Course may enroll in the Advanced Course.

What is a Lay Servant?

A Lay Servant is:

An active, supportive (professing) member of a United Methodist Church

Eager to serve the church, community, and world

Well-informed on scripture and on the doctrine, heritage, organization, and life of the United Methodist Church

Committed to witnessing through church and community leadership, caregiving ministries, and spoken communication

Willing to improve his/her skills by training for service


A Local Church Lay Servant is:

A Servant who serves primarily in their local congregation.

A Certified Lay Servant is:

A Local Church Lay Servant who has taken an advanced course in Lay Servant Ministries. They serve in their own churches, in other churches, and through district or conference projects and programs.

A Lay Speaker is:

A certified Lay Servant who is called and equipped to provide pulpit supply in the absence of the pastor.
