Missions Projects

We have two great mission projects to support during Annual Conference this year,  “Water for Flint” and “Fill the Truck.”

Clean water is still an issue in Flint Michigan.  Until ALL of the lead containing water lines are replaced, residents of Flint will have to continue using filtered and bottled water.

Bishop Deborah Lieder Kiesey has asked for funds to support the work of the Michigan Conference in helping to provide filters and clean water.  YOU CAN HELP by donating the amount you would spend on a case of water ($4.00) or the price of a pitcher filter system ($20.00-$45.00)   Donations can be deposited in the large water bottle at the Treasurer’s Office during Annual Conference and will be sent to the Michigan Conference Water for Flint outreach.  To read more about the continuing water problem and the work of the Michigan Annual Conference go to: michiganumc.org

Let’s fill the he Midwest Missions truck.  You will find it in the parking lot during Annual Conference.

This year, Midwest Mission Distribution Center is asking for kits of all types, but especially need these supplies:

  • Spiral Bound Notebooks
  • Infant Sleepers (not onesies)
  • Hand Towels & Washcloths

MMDC provides opportunities for individuals and groups of all walks of life, denominational backgrounds, abilities, and ages to help provide disaster relief, education and medical supplies to those in need both locally, nationally and internationally.  MMDC provides a "hands on" mission experience.  For those receiving the supplies, we are bringing hope that someone somewhere loves them.  To read more about MMDC, or to find the specific packing list for a kit go to: midwestmissiondc.org
