Right Next Door Conference advocates for communities 'where people are able to be more free'

10/26/2015

Rev. Lee Schott, pastor of the Women at the Well congregation within the walls at Mitchellville talks about the Right Next Door Conference, held October 16-17, 2015 at Ankeny First United Methodist Church.  More than 200 people participated in four workshop tracks.  Sr. Helen Prejean, who staunchly advocates for the end of the death penalty, was Friday night’s keynote speaker.  “What we’re talking about here,” Rev. Schott says, “is how can we be communities of faith…communities, period, in the world, where people are able to be more free.  There’s more support for that to happen even out in the world.”
