Lanette Plambeck, Director of Clergy and Leadership Excellence for the Iowa Annual Conference will be leading the day. Here is what she says about the day apart:
“It is my belief all clergy – no matter our location in ministry – desire to be at our best in the vocation of ministry. I have never met a colleague in ministry who ever set out to be “just getting by” in their daily living. That said, ministry – while rewarding – is not always easy. We all need time to focus our minds and energy around creating a personalized ministry action plan for both self and church.
On November 6th, I will be leading a one-day workshop covering 6 key conversations that will aid all clergy and church leaders in designing their ministry in a way that brings together our individuality as church leaders and God’s call in our lives as a people called United Methodist in the Iowa Conference. In our time together, we will begin the development of individual ministry action plans that will be contextual to the participant and could serve as a guide for the upcoming year around topics of authentic spiritual leadership, skill-set and training for daily mission and ministry, and designing a ministry of faith, fruit and fire that emerges out of self-leadership and accountability.
So, come take a breath, do a bit of connecting, reflecting and exploring - and leave a bit more grounded and equipped as you name the good, the bad and the ugly of daily ministry; reconnect with your gifts, explore ways to engage your passions, commit to spiritual- and self-care and explore opportunities that will benefit your daily ministry from discipleship planning to administrative leadership.
If you know your DISC, enneagram or strengthfinder results – please feel free to bring these as they will add to your MAP planning.”
