The Nashua UMC and Republic Community Church, in conjunction with Africans in the diaspora in the Iowa Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, take the opportunity to invite you, your family, congregation, and your community to the Africa Festival of Hope. The Africa Festival of Hope is the first ever Africa Cultural Event to take place around the community of Nashua and the surrounding towns.
The event will take place at Nashua United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 27 starting at 11:30 am - 3:00 pm. Psalm 96:3, Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
In the spirit of evangelism, we grow God’s kingdom by sharing Christ’s love through the diversity of our cultures, traditions, foods, dance and drama, and the unique styles of praise and worship. The event, therefore, will be an African shared cultural event.
With that, I take the opportunity to invite you and to prayerfully ask you to invite others to come, and we glorify God together. Please see below a tentative program of activities to help your planning for the event. The program of activities includes but is not limited to:
Please kindly give your family and friends the opportunity to experience Africa in America. We will also have the opportunity to answer some questions about Africa or our individual countries as the need may arise.
Please keep us in your prayers for the success of the event. We are also hoping to raise $2,000 in donations to help with the planning of the event. Please make your check out to Nashua United Methodist Church and mark it for the “African Festival of Hope.” Every donation is greatly appreciated. Mail to Nashua United Methodist Church, 314 Brasher St. Nashua, IA 50658.
We look forward to seeing you, your family, and your congregation at the event.
