Season of Creation: A series of events in honor of Earth

The Season of Creation is an international movement which begins on September 1, the Day of Prayer for Creation, and ends on October 4th, the feast day of St. Francis, the patron saint of ecology in many traditions.  All are invited to attend the 2018 series of free presentations on this year's theme: Walking Together Through our Sacred Creation.

Bishop Laurie Haller is the speaker for this presentation.  Bishop Haller is the Resident Bishop of the Iowa Area of The United Methodist Church.  She was serving as the senior pastor of First UMC in Birmingham in the Detroit Annual Conference when she was elected to the episcopacy during the 2015 North Central Jurisdictional Conference.  Bishop Haller is the author of the book, Recess: Rediscovering Play and Purpose (2015).

This is the third year faith communities across the Des Moines Metro Area have participated in the Season of Creation, sponsored by the Interfaith Green Coalition and Interfaith Power & Light.
