From Bishop Kennetha — A Prayer for Safety in the Midst of Storms

Dear Friends in Christ in the Iowa Conference,

As we focus on Holy Week and the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are well aware that many in our state and beyond are struggling to recover from the storms and tornadoes of last week.  Those storms struck throughout the U.S., particularly in parts of the South and Midwest, including in parts of Iowa. The storms killed at least 32 people. And so many others lost homes and treasured possessions.

Another round of storms will impact parts of the U.S. today, including Central and Eastern Iowa. More than 70 million people across the country are in the path of these storms. Our disaster response team has advised us to expect rain, wind, hail and possible tornados. Please take precautions to keep safe. And please pray without ceasing for those who have already lost loved ones to the storms of last week, and for the safety of those in the path of today’s storms. Please pray for the preservation of life and that the communities impacted will have what they need to recover.

In Prayer,
Bishop Kennetha Bigham-Tsai
