The 2023 Iowa Annual Conference Session will be held in a hybrid format on Friday, June 2, Saturday, June 3, and Sunday, June 4. The session will take place in person at the MidAmerican Energy RecPlex in West Des Moines and will also be offered virtually for those who choose to participate that way.
The Call to Order and Episcopal Address will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 2. Clergy Session will be earlier that morning at a time and location to be determined, and the Laity Session will be at 7:00 pm that evening at the RecPlex.
The RecPlex, while primarily a sports complex, is a wonderful state-of-the-art event space that offers plenty of FREE parking, handicap accessibility to all event spaces, fewer restrictions on outside food and drink, and is located outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Des Moines. Registration information will be emailed to members of the 2023 Annual Conference, be sure to watch for an email from your District Administrative Assistant. Registration will close on April 17 for in-person attendees, and late registration will be open until May 19. Registration after April 17 will mean members can only attend virtually. New this year will be that all in-person attendees will be using a voting device provided by Options Technology. This will help eliminate any cellular connectivity issues inside the RecPlex. Those attending virtually will need to vote using their cellular device.
