Statewide Pancake Breakfast for Imagine No Malaria

February 27, 2013

Every 60 seconds, a child dies from malaria.  Did you know that pancakes can help change that statistic?

As United Methodists, we are working together to stop the mosquito in its tracks and to save lives.  So in honor of World Malaria Day (April 25) World Malaria Day we are putting together a Statewide Pancake Breakfast! We want to invite everyone in Iowa to join us for a plate of flapjacks and make a difference in the process.

We hope that your local church will sign up to be one of the many breakfasts across the state over the four days from World Malaria Day and through the weekend (April 25-28).  We would like to have at least 100 of these breakfasts across the state.

Anytime during those four days, your church can sponsor a breakfast that will help raise funds and awareness for this extraordinary effort.  It can be led by your youth, the UMW group, or call together area churches to put on one big event.

Visit www.inmiowa.org/pancake for a planning kit (including posters and flyers)  and to let us know about YOUR event. If you need paper copies of the resources, please call Katie Dawson (515.974.8910) and a packet will be mailed to you.

THANK YOU for making a difference for the sake of the gospel.
