Conference to provide clergy with permanent email address

June 04, 2013

Beginning this summer (2013), the Iowa Annual Conference will have the capability to provide all clergy within the conference with a permanent email address which will not change regardless of where they are appointed, including retirement.  This capability is being made available through the Google for Non-Profits program which provides resources to non-profit organizations around the world at no cost.  This provides users with access to the Google Apps family of programs, including Gmail, Calendar, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google+ and others.

Each user account will have an assigned email address based on the users name in the format of , a special domain we have reserved specifically for this project.  The account will have a space allocation of 30GB of storage, which may be shared between the Gmail and Google Drive programs.

Final logistical details are being worked on now with a projected rollout of mid to late summer.  For more information you may contact Roland Minshall, Manager of Information Technology for the Iowa Annual Conference ( ).
