Six special offerings were received during the 2013 session of the Iowa Annual Conference. Together they totaled nearly $38,000 according to the initial report of the Conference Treasurer’s office.
“Clergy Helping Clergy” was received during the Clergy Session. Given by clergy colleagues, the fund’s purpose is to help to support clergypersons in crisis situations. A total of $4,613.10 was received.
The Africa University offering was received during the Opening Worship service. It totaled $6,972.43.
The Nigerian Student Scholarship Fund offering was received during the Retirement Celebration on Saturday afternoon. The total collected is $4,761.28.
The Imagine No Malaria offering, part of the efforts of the Iowa Conference and the United Methodist Church, was supported by gifts of: $11,616.99.
The special collection for the Diakonos was $6,106.99.
Finally the Bishop’s discretionary fund total giving was $3818.50.
As of Monday afternoon, June 10, an additional $104,044 had been received to support the work of Imagine No Malaria.
