Imagine No Malaria and the Iowa Conference are combining creativity and passion to help save lives.
Prints based on a painting by Camanche artist, Veronica Deevers, are being sold to benefit Imagine No Malaria and help provide life-saving resources in the fight against malaria in Africa.
A tragic reality is that every sixty seconds, a child under the age of five dies from this disease. An estimated 655,000 people die from malaria every single year. All proceeds from the sale of prints will go towards a comprehensive on-the-ground battle to fight malaria through prevention, education, communications, and treatment.
For over 160 years, the United Methodist Church has been present in Africa building churches, schools, and clinics. With over three hundred hospitals and mobile health centers on the continent, the work of Imagine No Malaria is able to use a grassroots and community based program of empowerment to help reach the people who need help the most.
This painting helps us to remember we can make the difference in the life of a child by helping provide the resources that will allow them to prevent, treat, and above all beat this disease. We can help make possible full and abundant life for boys and girls across a continent.
