The Ambassador Award from the Iowa Conference Commission on the Status and Role of Women (COSROW) is presented each year during Annual Conference to an Iowa United Methodist who exemplifies the goals and values that shape the Commission. The Award recognizes individuals who are committed to the full inclusion of women, especially those who are on the margins of the church and society, and work as advocate, catalyst and monitor on their behalf.
Those who have received the Ambassador Award include Lorie R. Reinhart, Bishop Deborah L. Kiesey, Kathryn F. Moore, Sue Mullins, Rita Ferneau, Ione Shadduck, and Fern Underwood.
Please consider those who interact with you on behalf of women in your church, workplace, community and state. Your nominee must be a member of a United Methodist Church in the Iowa Annual Conference and may be of either gender.
A nomination form and further information is available on the Conference website, through your COSROW representative, or the Iowa Conference Office. The deadline for consideration is February 15, 2014. The Ambassador Award recipient will be selected at COSROW’s spring meeting and recognized at the Award Ceremony held during Iowa Annual Conference in June.
