Lutheran Services in Iowa's Global Greens Farmers' Market and Oakridge Neighborhood Farmers Market are open this summer, adding two new farmers markets to the greater Des Moines area.
LSI Global Greens Farmers' Market is held on Saturdays, June through September, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LSI Refugee Connection Center, 3200 University Ave in Des Moines. The market vendors are former refugees reconnecting with the land through LSI's Global Greens agricultural programs. Purchases help support their small businesses as they build new lives in Iowa. The Global Greens Farmers' Market accepts EBT, WIC and senior market vouchers.

Oakridge Neighborhood Farmers Market is open Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Silver Oaks Senior Living, 979 Oakridge Drive in Des Moines. The farmers market runs from June 18 to September 24. Most vendors accept SNAP, WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Vouchers.
