Iowa UMC Discipler Professional Training Course Starts this Fall 2014

WHAT:

Discipler is a self-guided professional training course for all those serving in the ministry of Faith Formation/Christian Education.  Course participants will be aligned with a district mentor and will complete six modules through a self-guided on-line course.  Upon completion of each module, all participants will gather for group learning.  This course is open to both clergy and laity, whether volunteer and professional. 

WHY:

Discipler training provides exemplary foundational knowledge and experience which benefits the individual educator and the ministries of each local church.

WHEN & WHERE:

Orientation Meeting

September 27, 2014, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Norwalk UMC

Module 1 Meeting

November 8, 2014, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Norwalk UMC

COST:

$25 for Orientation Session and $50 per Module for Course*

*If you pay for 3 modules at Orientation Session, the fee for Orientation is waived.

*If you pay for all 6 modules at Orientation, the same fee is waived and educator receives a free one-year membership to Iowa CEF (Christian Engaged in Faith Formation)
