As many of you know, my husband Gary and I will be leading a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from February 2-12, 2021. We have led a number of trips to Israel over the years and never tire of “walking where Jesus walked.” Every disciple of Jesus Christ should have the opportunity to experience a pilgrimage to Israel.
Because of Covid-19, travel to Israel has been temporarily halted. However, our travel company, Educational Opportunities, has been working tirelessly with Israeli authorities to provide a safe travel experience when trips resume. Educational Opportunities has been providing travel to Israel for over 45 years with an outstanding safety record. You can click

Those who are currently signed up for the Israel trip had a virtual meeting last Sunday with Tom Smith, the Executive Director of Travel Ministry for EO. He shared the many ways in which travel to and within Israel will now be different in order to ensure everyone’s safety. Tom was also optimistic that Educational Opportunities travel will very likely resume before our February trip.
Six weeks before departure, EO will make a final decision about the trip. If they determine it is not safe to travel, or Israel is not open for travel, everyone will be issued a complete refund. Of course, there are various cancellation fees if a passenger decides to cancel prior to EO’s decision about travel safety.
We welcome you to join us on this pilgrimage. If you have any questions, please contact our Educational Opportunities representatives, Diane and Len Eberhart at
[email protected] or 641-990-3861 voice/text. Masks will be required of all trip participants.
Blessings,
Bishop Laurie
