Diane Brockmeyer retires after working for and supporting The United Methodist Church for more than three decades

After 30 years of faithful service, Diane Brockmeyer transitioned to retirement on May 6, 2022.  Brockmeyer has been an integral part of the Iowa Conference and her contributions to our organization will always be valued and remembered. Her hard work, commitment, and dedication have been priceless over the years. She will be greatly missed!
 
Brockmeyer's career working for The United Methodist Church began in 1971 when she started as a secretary at Cedar Falls, St. Timothy's UMC. She also worked as a secretary and office manager at Des Moines, First UMC then started at the Iowa Conference Center in 1992. She has worked for the Des Moines District, as the benefits secretary and worked in the Episcopal Office for the past 20 years. In the Episcopal Office she was executive assistant for bishops Gregory V. Palmer, Julius C, Trimble, Laurie Haller, and Deborah L. Kiesey.

We are happy to announce that Beth Carlson has been selected to join our team as our Temporary Executive Assistant to the Bishop. Carlson brings some amazing skills and a positive attitude to this position. She will begin in this position on Monday, May 24, 2022. As mentioned above this is currently a temporary position due to Bishop Laurie’s absence due to medical leave.
