The Drake Wesley Foundation aims to offer a mature, stabilizing, spiritual presence to their community

April 12, 2021

For many decades, the Wesley Foundation at Drake University has been a ministry of the United Methodist Church of Iowa. Early adulthood is a season of life fraught with risk and rich with opportunity. It has been our aim to offer a mature, stabilizing, spiritual presence to the Drake University community. The Wesley House has been a beacon of radical hospitality and deep inclusion.

Investing in the spiritual and intellectual lives of young adults in higher education has been a hallmark of the Methodist movement from its very beginning at Oxford University.

Students need safe spaces, brave spaces to discern their purpose in the world. We remain recommitted to our support of the 15+ recovery groups that meet at the Wesley House, plus Crew Scholars, Flight, VIP, and an assortment of other student groups. We will continue to offer confidential, compassionate listening in times of profound disruption and loss.

If you are among the thousands of Methodists from hundreds of congregations who have supported us in the past, THANK YOU.
