I am Pastor Rosa María Rodríguez from the El Pueblo de Dios [The People of God United Methodist] Church in Osceola.
Today I want to share with you what we are doing in this ministry. Our focus is always carrying the Gospel, taking the Good News. We are reaching more people for Christ. At this time we are participating in a project of a “fruitful morning.” Of course, we are also teaching, discipling, preparing new leaders to reach out and disciple others.
We have our service on Sundays. We also have Bible Studies. But, because of the pandemic we have been holding these by means of Messenger. We also have a time of meditation by means of Facebook. And we are always taking and showing the love of Christ to the community.
We are diverse community from different countries. But we are always united in the same Body of Christ working to reach new people and to build the Kingdom of God.
In addition, the last Sunday of each month we have the UMW group which is working in reaching other women to empower and help them. We are also working with the youth and all of the children. And, above all, as an immigrant community we try to warmly greet the newcomers who arrive to this place since in the end we are all immigrants and have simply arrived at different towns. In this community we are attempting to attract these newcomers and show them the love of Christ – to be present with them and let them know that The United Methodist Church is there with them.
Above all, our mission is to reach out and make disciples for Jesus Christ by reaching out to new people for the Kingdom of Heaven.
I would also like to take advantage of this opportunity to thank you all for the support that we have received from the Annual Conference. There are so many different people who have shown in many ways their support for Latino Ministries. This is some that we truly appreciate so much because The United Methodist Church has always been there supporting Latino Ministries. And so, I want to say many thanks to you all.
