Clergy face some distinctive tax regulations and often need guidance from tax professionals with experience working with clergy. To help seminary students and clergy understand better the issues to which they and their tax preparers need to give attention, the Lewis Center for Church Leadership of Wesley Theological Seminary has prepared “Compensation and Taxes,” an informational 12-minute video. Topics include compensation, federal and state income taxes, parsonage or housing allowing exclusion, opting out of Social Security, clergy tax payments, and more.
