KCCI Channel 8 News Des Moines will be featuring a church member from the Jefferson First United Methodist Church April 8 at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Active FUMC Jefferson church member Shirley Haupert, director of the food pantry, was interviewed at the local Greene County Christian Action Resource Center by Channel 8 news.
"She has done amazing things with finding us a new building and renovating it for $150,000," said Rev. Julie Poulson, "We raised all that money locally in a few months — all with volunteer labor."
The ecumenical food pantry serves over 120 households per month.
