We are so excited to welcome new students to campus and embark on the journey of orientation days. During this exciting time of change, the Wesley Center, with its United Methodist Affiliated ministries, is excited to do its part in supporting and connecting students who make a special connection to their faith communities.
We have a special ask of the Iowa Annual Conference to make the most of this season. Our Methodist churches have pledged to support the ministries of our church through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. As part of this critical mission, we would like for our local churches to consider how to best support the young people in their congregations who are transitioning to college life.
First and foremost, prayer and support are essential for our students during their challenging transition to college life. Fellow churches and faith communities, please consider how you can provide encouragement, guidance, and prayer to the students in your congregations during this time of transition. We also invite you to promote the "Conference Connect Card," – a tool developed by the Iowa Annual Conference. This card encourages incoming students, clergy, and families to get connected to and stay updated on what's happening at our United Methodist Affiliated schools in Iowa.
