In anticipation of the hurricane season,
Midwest Mission Distribution Center had pre-staged relief items such as personal dignity kits, rice meal packs, and linens at their partner's (
Food for the Poor) warehouse in Jacksonville, FL. Following the devastation caused by hurricane Dorian those items were immediately put to use and airlifted to the Bahamas arriving on September 7.
Food for the Poor has sent a request for other items for the residents of the Bahamas and Midwest Mission's would like to help with their disaster relief. So far, Food for the Poor has sent two 40-foot containers to help with relief and would like to send another 100 or more. The shipment date has not been secured but the containers will be sent as soon as they are filled.
Midwest Mission's corporate partner,
C.L. Smith in St. Louis, MO has donated enough supplies to fill a 26-foot box truck so another large container to ship is almost complete.
To complete the ongoing relief, they are asking for donations of the following items:
- shovels
- tarps
- blankets
- first aid kits
- flashlights with batteries
- Personal Dignity Kit supplies
- Medical Supplies - walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, canes

Supplies purchased from their
