Opposition to Unjust Theology Regarding the Holy Land Task Force Members Needed

At the 2022 Annual Conference, a resolution regarding Opposition to Unjust Theology Regarding the Holy Land was passed. This resolution called for the establishment of a task force to identify the biblical and theological reasons for opposing Israel's treatment of the Palestinian people and then submit a report to the 2023 Annual Conference with recommendations for action. We are looking for both clergy and laity to serve on this team.
The United Methodist Church has previously spoken out on such issues as settlements and military occupation. Still, it has yet to address the misuse of theology as it relates to the oppression of the Palestinian people.
If you are interested in being a part of this task force, please send an email to Bishop@iaumc.org. Meetings will be held on zoom, so there is no need to travel to Des Moines.
