We are excited to announce preliminary details about the 2022 Iowa United Methodist Conference Session, including a brand new location and some additional dates.
The 2022 Iowa Annual Conference Session will be held in a hybrid format on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5. The session will take place in person at a new venue in West Des Moines and will also be offered virtually for those who choose to participate that way.
The 2022 session will be held at the MidAmerican Energy RecPlex near DMACC West in Central Iowa.
This facility, while primarily a sports complex, is a wonderful state-of-the-art event space that offers plenty of FREE parking, handicap accessibility to all event spaces, fewer restrictions on outside food and drink, and is located outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Des Moines. All while still being less than 10 minutes from hotels, restaurants, and other amenities.

To accommodate a shorter and more fruitful conference weekend
some events traditionally held on conference weekend will be held on alternative dates.
- Clergy Session: Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Ankeny Family Life Center.
- Retirement Service: Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Ankeny Family Life Center.
- Memorial Service: Sunday, October 30, 2022 - A Conference-wide worship service. Location TBD.
- Laity Session: Friday evening, June 3, 2022, as it traditionally is. Details TBD.
- Episcopal Address: Saturday, June 4, 2022, during the AC Session.
- Ordering Service: June 5, 2022, during the AC Session.
Three virtual Town Halls have been scheduled aligning with our Strategic Priorities.
- Saturday, January 8, 2022, Development.
- Saturday, February 12, 2022, Aligning our Resources.
- Saturday, March 12, 2022, Deployment.
