Rev. Doug Cue to be Southeast Superintendent

January 14, 2019

Bishop Laurie Haller is happy to announce that Rev. Doug Cue will be the new Superintendent of the Southeast District. Rev. Cue will begin his new appointment on July 1, 2019.

“Rev. Cue has been an effective pastor in a number of different settings in the Iowa Conference for many years,” said Bishop Laurie Haller. “His focus on ‘getting things done’ has been especially helpful in his work in maintaining and improving the district parsonages."

Currently, he is the lead pastor at the Boone First United Methodist Church and is chair of the Conference Board of Trustees, on which he has served for several years.

"I am humbled by the invitation and opportunity to serve the church as the superintendent of the Southeast District,” said Rev. Cue. “I pray that my service will be a reflection of God's love, wisdom, and grace...as I build relationships and engage in ministry with the clergy and laity of the South East District."

Ordained as an Elder in The United Methodist Church in 1993, Rev. Cue has previously served at Silver Creek-Hancock, Garwin-Pleasant Hill, Kalona, Sharon Center, and Missouri Valley-Mondale prior to his tenure at Boone First.

“Doug has a beautiful spirit, and his gifts lie in the area of conflict management, connecting, and building bridges,” Bishop Laurie added.

Doug and his wife Jodie will be moving to Mount Pleasant, the Bishop noted.
