All Christians need to grow and learn how to connect and live with those with whom they disagree.

Our country is polarized and divided by how we think, the words we use, our political system, and much more. Instead of The United Methodist Church demonstrating a way through the divisiveness of our present time, we are as polarized and divided as our nation.

Rev. Dr. Greg Jones, Dean of Duke Divinity School, and the Rev. Dr. Susan Pendleton Jones with the North Carolina Conference’s Church Transformation Ministries, will help us understand some of the issues that have caused us to face a split: Confirmation Bias, Fundamental Attribution Error, Interpretive Loathing, and more. The Joneses will also explore what it would mean to “rediscover the heart of Methodism.”

This event will be connectional, focused on discernment and cultivating relationships. As we learn together we will be participating in the first step of rebuilding connection. We will grow in our relationship with Christ and each other.

We look forward to seeing you grow in grace with us at the Orders event in March.
