Thank you from the Conference Commission on Ministry with Persons with Disabilities

Thank you from the Conference Commission on Ministry with Persons with Disabilities

February 01, 2017

by Pastor Leila Blackburn, Consultant to the Commission

The Conference Commission on Ministry with Persons with Disabilities would like to thank the churches that work to make their facilities and programs accessible to persons with disabilities.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the churches that provide what is needed so those with special needs can join in church activities.

The Conference Commission on Ministry with Persons with Disabilities also thanks the many churches that give offerings for Disabilities Awareness Sunday, traditionally held the second Sunday in February. These gifts enable our Commission to give grants to help other churches become more accessible.

The Disabilities Commission no longer provides envelopes for the Disabilities Awareness Sunday Offering although donations are still needed because the Commission does not receive apportionment funds.

Click here to find worship resources, membership information, Accessibility Audit, and the Seed Grant Application Form for those churches who are working to become more accessible.

The Commission welcomes and encourages more grant applications! Thanks to you, in 2016, the Commission was able to help three churches meet their accessibility goals. Thank you again to all the local churches who do what they can so that everyone can participate fully in the life of the church!
