Rev. Eugene H. Hancock passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 10 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1340 3rd Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. The family will receive visitors an hour before the service. (All clergy attending are asked to robe and wear a white stole.) Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, December 2 at White Funeral Home, 400 1st Street W, Independence, IA.
Rev. Hancock served Mapleton; Independence; Iowa City, First; Des Moines, First and Cedar Rapids, St. Paul’s.
Survivors include his wife, Marna, Independence, IA; Lora Lee Edwards of Cedar Rapids, IA; Lyn Nell Hancock of Montclair, NJ and Jeff of Independence, IA.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to The Eugene Hancock Scholarship at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary; the Foundation at First UMC, Independence or St. Paul’s UMC, Cedar Rapids, IA.
