Rev. Dr. George W. Paterson passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012.
Memorial Services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, November 5 at First United Methodist Church, 214 E Jefferson Street, Iowa City, IA. (Clergy may gather, but need not robe.) Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Rev. Paterson served Russell; Churdan; University of Iowa Wesley Foundation; Chaplain, University Hospitals, Iowa City; Chaplain/Associate Professor Religion and Medicine, Associate Director of Pastoral Services, University Hospitals, Iowa City. He retired in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Belle of Iowa City, IA; their children: Jennifer Rendall of Tama, IA; William of Odenton, MD; George of Riverside, IA and Elisabeth Hairston of Spokane, WA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in George’s name to First UMC, Iowa City or the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, PO Box 1832, Burnsville, MN 55337.
