Rev. Dr. C. Dendy Garrett


Rev. Dr. C. Dendy Garrett passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 19 at Grace United Methodist Church, 3700 Cottage Grove Ave., Des Moines, IA, with visitation following the service at the church. (All clergy attending are invited to robe and wear a white stole.)

Reverend Garrett served at Oskaloosa (Assoc.); as a U.S. Navy Chaplain; Kalona Circuit; Des Moines, Wesley; Mt. Pleasant, First; as Superintendent, Perry District; Iowa City, First; and Des Moines, Grace. He retired in 1989.

Survivors include his daughter, Wendy Lego of Sioux City, IA; and sons, James of Waukon, IA; Douglas of Colfax, IA; and Matthew of San Jose, CA.

Memorials may be directed to Bidwell Riverside Center; The Charitable Care Fund at Sunrise Community Center; or Wesley Acres Good Samaritan Fund.
