Rev. Henry J. Bevel, Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018.
Homegoing Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 20 at Burns United Methodist Church, 1909 Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, Des Moines. Visitation will be held at Henderson’s Highland Park Funeral Home, 3500 6th Avenue, Des Moines, Friday, October 19 from noon to 7:00 pm. Henderson’s website is www.hendersonshp.com.
Rev. Bevel served at Des Moines Inner City Parish: Burns-Gatchel-Trinity (Associate); Chaplain, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Des Moines and as Superintendent, Council Bluffs District. He retired in 1998.
Survivors include his wife Shelvy Ann, 3520 Grand Avenue, HC236, Des Moines, IA 50312 and their children: Henry, III; Walt and Roxanna.
