Rev. James "Jim" W. King passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, Jefferson, Iowa. The family will visit with friends Friday, May 13, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, prior to the memorial service.
For those who cannot attend, the funeral service will be live streamed on the Slininger-Schroeder Facebook page.
Rev. King served at Donnellson Circuit; Bagley-Greenbrier-Jamaica; Fremont-Cedar-Kirkville; Fremont-Cedar-Kirkville; Corning Parish, Corning-Mt. Etna-Brooks-Carbon; District Superintendent of the Ottumwa District; Atlantic; Des Moines, First; and Nevada, First. He retired in 1998.
Survivors include his wife Kathy King, Jefferson, IA, and his 5 children: Dorie Womacks of Montrose, CO; Deb Roberts (Jeff) of Corning, IA; Rocky (Tania) of League City, TX; Karen Marsh (Rob) of Clarinda; and Shari King (Jim Reidy) of Marshalltown, IA.
