Rev. Michael L. Shaffer passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church (2424 42nd St NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402). Visitation will occur before the service at noon. Clergy attending the service are asked to wear white stoles, with robes optional.
Rev. Shaffer served East Janesville-Mt. Hope; Sioux City, Riverside-Church of All Nations; Sioux City, Riverside; New Hope (Dumont, Aredale, Bristow); Mount Union-Wesley Chapel; 2006 Graettinger; Graettinger-Terril; Klemme-Goodell; CLS Parish: Clearfield-Lenox-Sharpsburg; Clearfield-Lenox; and Garner. He went on Medical leave April 1, 2022.
Survivors include his wife Sue; mother, Darlene Shaffer; 3 daughters, Jennifer Bosworth, Christina (Tom) Axvig and Andrea (Brent) Schmitz; and 8 grandchildren.
