Service & Mission

There are many ways in which you may actively engage in mission and service:

Volunteer Opportunities

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission - United Methodist Volunteers In Mission – North Central Jurisdiction (UMVIM-NCJ) supports efforts by individuals and teams of volunteers within the NCJ who are invited by and work with the local host United Methodist Church or affiliated agency to bring Christ's healing to situations of need.

Nomads On a Mission Active in Divine Service - NOMADS provide volunteer labor for United Methodist organizations. NOMADS demonstrate God’s love through our work and by listening to the people with whom we work. We do new construction, remodeling, and repairs for churches, children’s homes, camps, colleges, outreach missions and disaster rebuilding. Team members do maintenance, cleaning, painting, electrical, drywall, sewing, flooring. With God’s help, NOMADS pretty much do it all.

Mobile United Methodist Missionaries - Mobile United Methodist Missionaries (MUMM) is a ministry of the Iowa Conference serving the Southeast, Southwest and South Central Districts of the United Methodist Church, making disciples in rural Iowa.
MUMM does this by:
• Leading VBS in community buildings, city halls, trailer parks and struggling rural UM churches.
• Launching after-school programs in rural communities/churches.
• Recruiting volunteers from local communities to help with programming.
• Sending at-risk kids to JOY (Jesus, Others & You) Camp on scholarships.
• Serving needs in communities year round and especially during the holiday season to share God’s love with all God’s people.
• Conducting work projects for small rural churches. (They provide materials, and MUMM provides volunteer labor.)
